This blog gives a look into the eternal sunshine of my ever roving mind.
I consider myself a social critic.
I believe in Film, Music, Theatre, Musical Theatre, Gay Rights, the Right to Choose, Human Rights and YES I still believe in Barack Obama.
I believe in most things left of center.
I don't get any organized religion. They are all a sham.
This is the gay pride flag. I am proudly gay.
These are the things this blog is about.
Love it, like it or leave it. We all have choices.
i just discovered josh doyle. he sang this on 'the road to rogue' promoting the new series 'rogue' on directv. i love this song and his voice. i'll be checking out the series this weekend. i happen to like it's star thandie newton since i first saw her real talent in 'crash'.
here's a vocal only version. better sound quality.
'smash' is having a less than stellar sophmore season that may well be it's last season. the fact that nbc has just moved the remaining episodes of the season to saturday night really has sounded the death rattle for this once promising series. as a musical officiando and lover this great idea has hit rock bottom and deserves cancellation. it's a damn shame. why did it go wrong? that may be one of the big questions of the past tv seasons. well bad writing, incoherent subplots and some really bad musical choices are a few of the reasons. there was good talent wasted. that's a shame. all and all 'smash' is, was, a shame and damn it that's the shame. season 2 rates a C and i am being kind this billy joel cover has been one of very few highlights this season.
on 5/15 i posted the audio only version of this song. well i just found the full vidoe on youtube and want to share it. i have not been able to get this song out of my head. goosebumps. and fitting since season 2premiers this month...finally!
'pippin' is a favorite broadway show of mine. here are two of the opening songs performed by ben vereen and....written by stephen schwartz it is a pleasant musical romp thru the middle ages.
i think lucy hale is an extraordinary talent. she is wonderful as aria on 'pretty little liars. she has a voice to match her acting abilities. it is time for someone in hollywod to finally film the musical 'she loves me' and cast her as amalia barish. then redo 'carousel'. she is the perfect julie jordon.
from the soundtrack of my mind 'glee' got it right and having the different (ex)couples share it was genius. when 'glee' does it right they do it very right and vice versa.
