'Bachelorette' Preview

if you follow my blog you know i am a huge kirsten dunst fan. it's good to see her 'lighten up' and go into a comedy although i never want her to stop showing her dramatic side.
i'm sure comparisons to 'bridesmaids' will be made but word of mouth says it stands on it's own.

Kirsten Dunst Gets Her Moment In 'On The Road'

i love kirsten dunst. she has moved onto my favorite actress column slowly, steadily but surely. she should have won best actress for 'melancholia'. frack she should have at least been nominated. here she is in a clip from the forthcoming, probably year end, 'on the road'.

'Melancholia': ****stars

'melancholia' is not for everyone. it is a dark film revolving around the impening collision of our planet with another. it begins with a wedding whose bride suffers melancholia which is the name of the planet that will collide with earth. it has a good cast well suited to their parts but it is the amazing performance of kirsten dunst as the bride that is the center of it. her sister played by a wonderful charlotte gainsbourg anchors it until the final moments when roles reverse.

kirsten dunst deserves an oscar nom for here portrayal. she has already won best actress earlier this year at the cannes film festival. the question is whether or not academy members will see it. right now the film and ms dunst top my year end 'best of' lists.

Kirsten Dunst Wins Best Actress at Cannes

and i was thinking i was the only one who knew what a wonderful actress she is. well it appears she finally 'got' the right role. the film is 'melancholia'. she won despite some crazy nazi remarks made by director lars von trier. good for the jury that earlier in the week hung the director but honored the performer.

terrence malick's 'tree of life' won best picture. it opens nation wide this month.
