'Smash': Raza Jaffrey, Jaime Cepero, Brian d'Arcy James and Will Chase Out

so it is dev the unfaithful boyfriend of karen, michael the back and forth lover of julia and also the back and forth joe demaggio, and james husband of julia that are all dropped from season 2 of 'smash'. o yeah and best of all the hateful ellis is also gone. under a truck or to prison one could only hope.

will these changes make for a better season 2? well all of julia's baggage is gone so now she can concentrate on writing better songs for 'bombshell'. actually the 11 o'clock song that closed season 1, 'don't forget me' was brilliant. the hateful ellis often made the show unwatchable so good riddance to the most hated character on the tub this past season. i kind of liked dev even though he cheated on karen with ivy and well like this is basically a prime time soap. duh. 

we'll see. we'll see.

Winding Down

my original guilty pleasure is about to say goodbye. 'gossip girl' will return in the fall in what looks to be an 11 episode final season. as unhappy as i may be to see it go i must admit that it has lost it's edge the past two seasons. but...it gave us blake lively who has proven herself here and on the big screen. choose wisely blake. take great care with your film choices. you have the chops. tread gently. think winslet and take on roles that develop your skills. you are on the right path. don't let greedy agents steer your wrong. i am rooting for you.

sandra is a comedy superstar. melissa proved more than anything that she has the chops to buddy with ms bullock after 'bridesmaids'. 'bridesmaids' director paul feig is in the mix. this will be HUUUUUUUGE or a master flop. i vote for huge!

she will be missed. but 'bridesmaids' author and star is hollywood bound big time. her last apearance as a regular was last night.

katharine mcphee is amazing with an amazing voice. i never watched her on 'idol'. i really never watched 'idol' at all. so smash is my introduction to ms mcphee. i am in love with her voice.

unfortunately this is just the song as opposed to the show video. but but but...it is the voice that counts.

Two More Cancelled

alright alright 'csi, miami' had a good 10 year run. but 'unforgettable' deserved another year. like the cancelled 'awake' most people don't want to think while watching tv anymore. pity.

'Desparate Housewives': Time to Say Goodbye

after 8 seasons and 180 uneven episodes the ladies of wisteria lane are leaving primetime. it's been a rocky road at times. after a brilliant first season the next eight were so so hit and miss. but i kept coming back. sometimes it was a very painful visit and sometimes but not often enough a wonderful visit. this last season or at least the last few episodes were a grand return to better days. but why the frack did they kill mike defino when orson was back in town? ridiculous!

yet there were the ladies. lynette, gaby, bree and susan. i liked them. most of the time. marc cherry did make a fool off susan way to often. it helped kill her character and the show more often than not. yet i will miss these four dames and the characters who walked in and out of their lives.

tonight at 11 p.m. it all comes to and end. i bid thee a mostly fond adieu.

it happens every year. tv shows are cancelled. these are a few that i enjoyed that have now been officially axed. some i saw coming, some i maybe understand why and some i just don't get. or a combination of all of these. well i bid them fare thee well. i'll miss them.
