Josh's Jukebox: 'Holding Out for a Hero'

'glee' has shown new life this season. the musical productions are as good if not better than the past.
with the exception of the bulimia crap, a horrible example to young girls, the plots have been fun and some bittersweet....more to come.

'Glee' Season 4 Is Adrift in Medocrity Since It Graduated Some of It's Best Talent

'glee' is in free fall. since graduation last spring the choir room now seems hollow and empty. and lifeless. with rachel finn, quinn and santana gone all we have are empty tables and empty chairs. where the hell is naya rivera and diane argon? these two are a major losses and makes the show a lot less gleeful. at this point i give it a more than generous c-

kate hudson? okay i am not a fan so when she is the best thing about the new season all bets are off. her character is miserable, her acting almost passable and with great amounts of editing her dancing is well...good. no more no less than good. i mean bebe neuwirth she ain't!

lea michelle is best off being in ny away from the mess in mckinley high. she's got a hot cute talented guy swooning over her. her best friend kurt joined her in search of his own dreams so now they are besties and roomies. but she does have to deal with ms hudson. all those who srtrive in the theater know it will be hard...damn hard. there will be more downs than ups. heartache and heartbrake are par for the course. many can do it and succeed. but can't you at least want your teachers to be better than you are. ms hudson is not better than lea michelle. she doesn't come close to lea michelle. and i ain't thinking ms michelle is on her way to an oscar. i'm jusy saying she'll get there faster than kate hudson. and yet she is the best thing in this new season. how can this be? i do not know. it boggles the mind.

lea
kate
lea wins hands down.

i'll keep trying to watch 'glee'. at least a few good musical numbers will show up. they always do.

A Glee Moment: 'Cough Syrup'

one of glee's best moments last season. darren chriss sang 'cough syrup' while another cast member attempted suicide for being bullied because he was gay. i understand this bullying as i was a gay kid growing up in brooklyn. thankfully i never attempted this final solution. not all kids are as lucky as i am.

(anyway more on the new season coming soon)

Glee's Whole Cast Returning, Chord Overstreet Possibly Becoming a Regular

Glee showrunner Ryan Murphy told Vulture of his fifteen series regulars, "They're all coming back. Anyone who is a regular is coming back. Everyone said yes." Now that news is being corroborated by several sources, with the additional info that Chord Overstreet, who appeared in season two, left, and returned for part of season three, will be back and may become a regular. "Lea Michele and Cory Monteith are among those likely to be in most if not all episodes," according to Deadline, whileThe Hollywood Reporter writes, "Michele, Monteith and [Chris] Colfer are poised to return as series regulars."

A confusing portion of the casting confirmation lies in the fact that regular and recurring actors may not necessarily see more or less episodes depending on their statuses. Along those lines, Murphy originally said to us, "It doesn't mean everyone will be doing 22 episodes, but everyone wants to stay in our family and our world." He added, "I wanted to make sure those actors know that if they want to have a home, they have a home. If they want to explore new and different things while also having a home, that is also an option."

Start placing bets on which cast members square off with already announced guest stars Kate Hudson, Sarah Jessica Parker, and American Idol's Jessica Sanchez ... and on who mysteriously drops out of stories while exploring their Murphy-blessed, Glee-less freedom.

A 'Glee' Moment

the whitney houston tribute was soso at best. a friend of mine, a real whitney fan, said the difficulty was that only whitney could really sing these songs. i say they were mediocre songs to begin with.

so here's a non whitney song as lea michele sings 'firework'.

'Glee' Time Marching On

this weeks episode go 'glee' began to prepare viewers for certain goodbyes as graduation approaches. i've often complained that it was , is, one of the most eleven shows on tv. but even it's unevenness it's musical numbers were almost 100% spot on.

so for the next few weeks i think it might be fun to remember some of the best. first up: 'total eclipse of the heart'.

i gotta admit that cory monteith's finn has become one of my favorite characters over the last four years. they have allowed him to go through 'real' adolescence with all it's ups and downs and seemingly coming out on the upside. so here he is with lea michelle and sometime rival jonathan gruff.

A Glee Moment Part 1

glee is one of the most frustrating shows ever. it is so damn erratic. when it is good it is often very good and when it is bad...well it sucks.

but today i want to celebrate the very good. these three songs appeared in the last episode of what is now being called the winter season. these three performances are not just good. they are quite wonderful bordering on great.

'cough syrup'

'fly/i believe i can fly'

'here's to us'

{to be continued}
