Time to Say Goodbye: 'In Plain Sight'

mary mccormack and her alter ego mary shannon say goodbye tonight. this is not only the end of a series but the end of new adventures for one of tv's best female characters. i am always amazed that neither ms mccormack nor the show ever received a single emmy nomination. shame shame on the emmy awards. my overall rating for the four season series is a healthy B+. there were a few missteps but what series doesn't falter at times. special mention to frederick weller and paul ben-victor for four years of dedicated and wonderful acting support.

In Plain Sight' and 'Law and Order Criminal Intent' Have Started Their Summer Runs on USA

happily Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe are back in their original roles. Sadly this final season is only eight episodes long. maybe good ratings will change the minds of the powers that be. a really good addition this time around is julia ormand as the psychiatrist goren is forced to see to remain in his job. this could go so so far if the series is extended. so far damn good.

as season finales end on the networks usa brings 'in plain sight' back to fill the void. this season lives up to it's past three seasons with the amazing mary mccormick as the tough yet vulnerable mary shannon. why is this woman constantly ignored come emmy time? if you are not watching this show you are missing an intelligent adult drama. treat yourself.

'Inception' on Blu Ray and DVD Today

not a single film that i've seen has come out so far this year that has moved 'inception' from my favorite film of the year slot. nor from my best film of 2010 thus far. granted i have a few more to see but....

leo, marion, joseph gordon-levitt and the rest of the wonderful cast bring life to an amazing original screenplay brilliantly crafted and directed by christopher nolan.

now we can own it...rewind it, slow-mo it or just watch in over again and again. this has never been a see it once film. it is chock full of moments, sequences, shots that need to be seen again, studied and pondered over. this is one helluva film...an amazing fete really.

it deserves oscar noms for film, directing, editing, screenplay, best actor, supporting actress, music. sound editing, special effects and cinematography.  did i leave any out?

i guess you know how i feel about 'inception'. i gave it my highest rating when i first saw it. the next three times did not change my mind. this is film making at it's best.

'In Plain Sight' Gets Two More Seasons*

USA Network has given a two-season pickup for "In Plain Sight."From the net's own Universal Cable Prods., the New Mexico-set drama stars Mary McCormack as a U.S. marshal who works in the witness protection program.

Show ended its third season in June with strong ratings, one of a handful of successful USA summer skeins. Net recently launched "Covert Affairs" in mid-July, a month that saw a slew of basic cable dramas fare well, including TNT's "Rizzoli and Isles" and "The Closer," as well as freshman skein "The Glades" on A&E.

USA is also preparing to add some comedy to its lineup now that "Monk" is off the air, ordering up sitcom "Driven" from Linda Bloodworth in May.
