Celebrating Film

Once a week or so I am going to pay tribute to some of Hollywood's finest.
Most of my friends would think I'd start with the wonderful and sorely missed Audrey Hepburn.
Or the alive and still working brilliance of Kate Winslet or Julie Christie.
I decided to go with the oft forgotten, under-estimated, beautiful, sultry Ava Gardner.
For me she was the most beautiful woman on screen...followed very very closely by Natalie Wood.
But Ava went from raving beauty to having the bit worn look of a woman who lived hard and played harder. So damn real!
Nat just died too too young to get there.
So here is a brief look at Ava's career in pictures.

Here to begin is my favorite Ava photo.

(Next up the late great Natalie Wood).

My Favorite Ava Film "The Night of the Iguana"

Ava held her own working with Deborah Kerr and Richard Burton.
Actually she stole this movie to Hollywood's great surprise. Not mine though.
