Natalie Part 3 1954-1961

Natalie got the break most child stars did not. She got to play teenage rolls and the audience accepted her. These include 'Rebel Without a Cause', 'Splendor in the Grass', 'Cash McCall' and 'Marjorie Morningstar'. The rest can mostly be forgotten. But still a star was made over and reborn.
1961 gives us Natalie in 'Splendor in the Grass'
1961 also gives us another film that begins the last phase of Natalie's career. That movie will begin Part 4 and will never and should never be forgotten.

Natalie Stills

My friend David sent these after I published today.
Well here they are.
Natalie with Claudette Colbert and Bette Davis.

Happy Birthday Edward Norton 8/18

One of my favorite films: 'Primal Fear'.

Natalie: Part 2 1946-1953

Natalie was one of the few child stars to make the transition to young adult performances and go further to leading lady star status.
As a kid she had the honor of working with two great actresses. Her first film "Tomorrow is forever" starred the always good Claudette Colbert.
Her second film is the classic "Miracle on 34th Street" followed by the classic "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" Then 5 more lesser movies when she scores big on number nine working with Bette Davis in "The Star". And unlike most child stars it had hardly begun.

Now I present the highlights of Natalie the child star.

Hall of Fame: The Introduction: The Late Great Natalie Wood: 7/20/38 - 11/29/81

PART 1

Natalie was born at the right time but passed much to soon.
Nat was a beauty. A pretty girl who grew into one of Hollywood's most beautiful stars.
Nat was a good actress also. Not a great actress but talented enough to seduce us and the camera that loved her.
However, she really gave five great performances despite some of her limitations. Two on the big screen, "West Side Story", "Gypsy" and "Love with the Proper Stranger". Two were on the small screen which were remakes of "From Here to Eternity" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof".
So I present Natalie. She was and remains one of my favorites.
Her untimely death did not give her the chance to do more and better work. She blossomed as an adult actress but the bloom was cut off too soon.
