Thank God He's Back Tonight on HBO

Rose and Jack Are Back December 26th.

But now 10 years later they are April and Frank Wheeler in 'Revolutionary Road'.

I LOVE Kate Winslet. She is truly the best actress of her generation. Actually along with Meryl Streep and Julie Christie she is one the greatest actresses on film today. Now two of them have won the Oscar and I pray this year brings one to Kate. She's been cheated long enough. And yes, I will use any excuse to blog her. I am unashamedly in love with Kate and her work.

Kate has only made four Hollywood type commercial movies, 'Titanic', 'Life of David Gale', 'All the King's Men' and 'The Holiday'. I suppose I need to add 'Flushed Away' to those four as she did voice a lead character. But it is in those smaller independent films that her brilliance is most evident. Each of her films will be highlighted eventually. Today though I give you a preview and a wondrous memory.

The biggest money maker of all time. It made Kate a STAR!!! I love this film and yes it too is one of my all time favorites.

Ingrid's birthday, in one of those simple twists of fate, is also the anniversary of her passing at the age of 67.

Although Ingrid won two Oscars she is best remembered for a role she did not win for. That is one of the greatest films of all time: 'Casablanca'.

Ingrid won the a Suporting Oscar for 'Murder on the Orient Express' which happens to be one of my all time favorite films.

Ingrid won her leading role Oscar for 'Anastasia'.

Tonight's the Night...It Won't Be Just Any Night..A Night I've Longed For All My Life!

Civil Rights for All starts tonight.
Civil Rights for all men and women of every color, race and creed...and sexual orientation.
Tonight dreams come true.

And I have a word for GAY men and women who I hear repeat the bs rhetoric of the vast right.

Barack is not a Muslim. I hate writing that because what the hell is wrong with Muslims. 19 fanatical fools created havoc on 9/11. 3,000 Americans were killed. They happened to be Muslim. Would you like me to name you 19 morons and killers from other religions? I can do it!!! From every religion...YES I CAN! Test me if you want. Hitler was raised a Christian damn it. And for the record gw, cheyney and rumsfeld killed more than 3,000 Americans since then. They did it with lies and bs on top of bs. They are the REAL FANATICS in our country. And one of them was reborn!
Stop using the n" word to describe him. You show a sign of being of lesser intelligence. Do you like being called a fag, a queer, a fairy etc. etc. I DON'T. Do you really want a continuation of the current moron's idea to make a constitutional againt you...US? I DON'T! Start thinking with your heads and not your butts.
Those who were for Hillary get over it. She has now asked you to support Barack. If you are a woman think about your reproductive rights. If you are gay read the above paragraph again and again.
If you are working class check your wallets and credit card debt. Are you better off today than you were before this current bs administration. If you are, well lucky you...if you are not start figuring out why you are not. The answer is the republicans.The last eight years of a fool who on 9/11 sat still for 8 minutes because he did not know what to do! McCain is 4 more years of that idiot and his policies. McCain is trigger happy and a war monger. Do you want more war? Do you want to pay for more wars. Start thinking everyone. Get over your pre-conceived notions that the right has driven into the country's dialogue. They don't want you to think. Call their bluff and for god's sake THINK!!!

Fall Films Part 1: September 2008

Everyone who knows me knows I am a movie and film buff. Yeah, to me there is a difference.
This summer I had fun with 'Sex and the City', a great ride at 'The Dark Night' and a wondrous five times at 'Mamma Mia'.

But now comes the fall/winter movie and award-watching season.
September brings two I will definitely see. But yes I hope for some wonderful surprises.

September 19 brings 'The Duchess'. I like Keira Knightly. Hell, I really like her. She is a charmer on screen. She is a pretty girl. She is becoming a damn good actress. More on Keira in the future. For now I really recommend 'Pride and Prejudice' and one of my favorites 'The Jacket' with one of my favorite actors Adrian Brody. Keira is so much more than the 'Pirate' trilogy.
